In the beginning . . .
I'm not sure how to begin this blog. I want it to be more than just a journal of my falconry endeavors. I want it to wander, not aimlessly, but, kind of like Thoreau says in "Walking"--the route is not planned beforehand, or if planned, then only in a general way. There is room for being dilatory, time for digression. There is the prospect, too, of an occasional sally: a spirited little foray to some appealing spot ahead or sideways, some object or sight that calls for a closer look. The route is mapped in the going. And except for a general familiarity with the terrain to be walked, there's no anticipating what will come your way; you set out to see what is out there to be seen; this being said, let us begin our journey.
